Frilled Flame Lizard
The frilled flame lizard is a two-foot long lizard. Its body is covered in red scales and from the top of its head to the tip of its tail runs a large tan colored frill. This frill collects heat from outside sources to warm the creature.

Combat
The frilled flame lizard is very territorial and will attack anything it believes it can kill. It can deliver a nasty bite for 1d4+1 points of damage. Every other round, it can use its breath weapon in place of a bite attack. The breath weapon is a line of fire, 20 feet long and 1 foot wide. This line of fire deals 2d4 points of damage to everyone in its path. A victim may attempt a saving throw vs breath weapon for half damage.

Habitat/Society
Frilled flame lizards mate for life, so are sometimes encountered in pairs. If one of the lizards is killed, the other will go berserk and fight until it or the killer is slain. Frilled flame lizards generally claim a territory that is two-thousand five hundred square feet, but is doubled for a mated pair.
Frilled flame lizards will mate during high sun. Within a week, the female will lay 1-6 eggs on the border of their territory and bury them under a few inches of loose earth. The female frilled flame lizard will then abandon the eggs.
The eggs with hatch in 5d4 weeks. Young frilled flame lizards have 1hd, bite for 1d2 points of damage, and have a breath weapon dealing 1d4 points of damage. The young will mature into full adults in six months. Upon hatching, young frilled flame lizards will scatter to set up their own territories. They do risk death from their own parents if they wander into their territory.

Ecology
Frilled flame lizards will eat carrion, but prefer live prey. They generally eat insects and rodents, but will attack larger prey, if defending their territory.
The meat of a frilled flame lizard is inedible, as it charcoals upon the creatures death. It's red skin may be taken for decoration, or clothing, and can sell for up to one ceramic piece in most city-states.
Fire clerics tend to have a soft spot for these creatures and are loath to harm one.
