Kraah was not being interrogated at that moment, so Rafiq told him about the plan. Kraah agreed, but had to wait until the beak clamp was removed, because the spell required him to speak. Hopefully, he could hide his words and the templar will not notice that he cast a spell. The chance was slim, but it was the only chance they had.
When the group arrived at the bailey of the Golden Tower, they found that it was guarded by a templar and two half giants. Rafiq expertly bluffed and bribed their way inside, claiming he had business with the Bureau of Trade.Meanwhile, the door to Kraah's cell opened and the elf templar, once again, stood before him. She removed his beak clamp and Kraah pretended to plead for water. On his last plea, he whispered the words to the spell, as quietly as he could. Then, everything went dark.
The rest of the group made it to the entrance of the high bureaus. They did not have a writ to let them inside, but Rafiq was ready with a heafty bribe. However, the templar here took a particular liking to Clavis and shamelessly flirted with him. Clavis, in his best female voice, promised to see him later that evening. Yusef engaged Dimitria in conversation, to keep her from speaking the truth to the templar, as she could not lie. The flirting worked and the templar let them inside.
The group, including Rafiq, had never been to the high bureaus and the area was very busy and crowded. The buildings were a lot bigger than they had expected, but they slowly made their way to the processing center. They were harassed by some Balician merchants, but the group ignored them and continued on their mission.
Suddenly, Kraah awoke as pain ripped through his chest. A slave stood over him, shocked, with a handful of Kraah's chest feathers in his hand. Kraah was laying down, but quickly rose on the table. The room he was in was large, with small windows. There were two dozen tables, like the one he was standing on, and about four dozen slaves.
There were also a dozen armed guards, who pointed at Kraah and began advancing. Kraah ran for the door, hoping that it lead outside and he could fly away. Sadly, the door lead down, but Kraah had nowhere to go, so he sprinted down them.
Kraah was a slow runner and the guards behind him were quickly advancing on him. When he got to the bottom of the stairs, there were more guards. They lashed out with their spears, striking Kraah several times, but Kraah pushed past them and managed to get outside.
Once outside, Kraah took to the air. Clavis saw Kraah and pointed him out to the others. Kraah was being peppered with arrows and was badly bleeding. Rafiq teleported to Kraah and grabbed onto him. The rest of the group violently engaged the archers.
Rafiq teleported Kraah to the ground and opened a dimensional gateway. He shoved Kraah threw it and screamed for everyone to follow. They did and the gateway closed, leaving Tyr behind.
The group appeared near the Lost Oasis, expecting the find respite. Heat, smoke, and screams of the dying greeted them. The Lost Oasis was under attack by a large force. Much of the vegetation was defiled and troops were slaying the inhabitants of the oasis.
The troops carried a Tyrian banner.
