Session One Hundred Eleven: The Plan

The group began planning immediately, on how to rescue Kraah. Rafiq knew any templar building would be warded against teleportation, so it would not be as easy as teleporting in and out.
Dimitria thought they could just wait for Kraah to be killed and then try to recover his body and bring him back to life. Rafiq was okay with that idea, but Selia and Yusef were not. Kraah was good friends with Yusef and he would not risk his life so callously.
Meanwhile, Kraah was locked and bound in a small room. The door opened and the female elf templar greeted Kraah again. She spoke softly and promised to let Kraah live, if he gave her what she wanted.
What she wanted was the gemstones. Kraah refused to talk, but he knew a mind bender was prodding his thoughts. He tried to think of nonsense, but it was difficult to completely shut out her questions. His mind betrayed him several times.

Over the next few hours, Rafiq visited Kraah's mind, but would leave as soon as Kraah told him a mind bender was probing his thoughts. Kraah's interrogation lasted several hours and several mind benders were brought in to probe his thoughts.

Dimitria thought of a new plan. If Kraah could cast a spell, he could use magic to appear dead. Then the group could get his body, before his body was processed for fertilizer. Everyone was supportive of this plan, as it would be easier to get him from processing, rather than a templar jail cell.
However, the group had a small problem. They did not know what to do with Ali and the escaped slave from the arena. Ali offered to go with them. He may be a traitorous noble, but he still knew the layout of and had contacts in the city.
They decided to send the escaped slave to Selia's protected lands, which were a few miles south of Dimitria's druidic guarded lands. Selia had a servant living on her lands, growing food and tending the natural flora. They gave the slave some simple weapons, clothing, and provisions. Then they wished him well and sent him off.
Ali told them of an abandoned mining cave, that he used to play near as a child. He allowed Rafiq into his mind, to see the place himself. Rafiq used the opportunity to poke around inside Ali's head, as the two were rivals for Dimitria's affection.
After Rafiq had gathered the location, he opened a dimensional gateway and everyone stepped through. They were quite exhausted from the days events and decided to rest for a short time. Yusef couldn't sleep at all, as he was too worried about Kraah.
After resting, Yusef used what he could to manufacture disguises for the group. He made Rafiq look like a rich merchant and disguised Clavis to look like his wife. Ali instructed them on how to bribe the appropriate authorities and told them where Kraah's body would be processed. They left Ali in the mine and made their way to the caravan gate.
Once at the caravan gate, Rafiq made his way to the front of the line and bribed the templar guard, so he wouldn't have to wait in line. This was standard practice for someone of his supposed wealth and status. The templar questioned them briefly and Selia's complete honesty nearly got them in trouble, when she revealed that she was a druid. Yusef and Rafiq covered her truth with some half-truths of their own and the templar let them inside.
