Session Eighty: New Friends

The letters guided them through the room. Some of the square tiles were traps and some were safe. The group figured out that there were two safe pathways. One went to the left and the other to the right. They followed the right path, which lead them to a secret door.
Before they could enter, a voice called out, from the room's entrance. It was Raco, Nyla and Lilith explained, one of the monks from the monastery. They called out the safe path to him and he was able to avoid the traps. He introduced himself to the group and said he was from Tyr. The group explained the peril Tyr was in and that they were trying to stop the Tyrant of Tyr from carrying out his nefarious plans. Raco decided to join them.
They traveled down the hallway, disarming two traps along the way, and came to a large room with a dais. Shade walked onto the dais and writing appeared on the wall. It was, of course, a riddle. As the writing appeared, so did nine jhakar. The jhakar were growling and threatening, but none of them moved to attack.

Shade could not figure out the answer to the riddle, so he called it out to his companions. Raco shouted back the answer and Shade answered the riddle aloud. All of the jhakar disappear, except one. That one walked calmly to Shade's side and sat down beside him. Shade gave him a pat on the head and used his innate magic to talk to him. They became fast friends. Shade named him Fin.
They returned to the pillar room, including the jhakar, and followed the left path. This path lead them to another secret door. On the other side of this door was a hallway. This hallway lead to another door.
Shade opened the door and inside were three ogre archer statues, three ogre warrior statues, and another door . He walked through the room, unmolested, and opened the far door. On the other side of this door was a wooden glen. As Alaxander was about to follow Shade, Shade told him to stop. Shade explained that he was wearing the bow amulet and the bear tabard. Those two items likely allowed him to avoid the guardians.
Alaxander thought this was wise advice and was able to see into the wooded glen, from his position in the hallway. He opened a dimensional doorway, which would allow everyone to avoid the stone guardians. Everyone passed through.
They followed the path through the glen and came upon a circular clearing, lined with six statues and six pillars with weapons. In the center of the clearing was a small obelisk, with writing on it. The writing was a riddle. They had to match the statues with the correct weapons.
As they were doing their best to solve the riddle, they mistakenly chose to put the bow in the wrong statue's hands. The statue came to life and shot Nyla, who had placed the weapon in its hands. It hurt and Nyla cursed the statue. After that, they solved the riddle with no more mistakes.
The clearing faded away, revealing a short column in the center of a circular room. On top of the column was a green gemstone. Alaxander walked forward and touched it. The Lord of the Senses introduced itself and began rambling, its boredom finally alleviated. He touched the Lord of the Senses to the Lord of the Mind and they magically locked together. He added the Lord of the Legs as well, which created the Lord of the Many.
Using the way, they quickly returned to the monastery. Nabil and some of the other monks were waiting for them. Nabil explained that he was glad that they found what they were looking for, but that they could not leave the monastery. Its secrecy was too important.
They began to discuss the situation with Nabil. Raco and Nyla suggested Nabil erase the monastery's location from their minds. Nabil said that was a possibility, but Kiara and Kalino immediately refused.
Nabil took Kiara aside and spoke softly to her. Afterward, she reluctantly agreed. Nabil then pulled Kalino aside and spoke to him softly. Afterward, Kalino agreed.
The group was exhausted and decided to leave in the morning.

Day 24, Week 2, Macro, Friend's Vengeance, 190th King's Age, Sun Descending

In the morning, Nabil and the group gathered together in the monastery's hall. One by one, he erased the monastery's location from their minds. He told Nyla, Raco, and Lilith, that they would be missed. He then opened a large dimension door and invited them to depart. They did so and found themselves on a road, near Draj.
Before pressing on, the group buried Julius. They had a short service for him, mainly speaking about what a loyal and powerful companion he was. They constructed a cairn to mark his grave.
Alaxander spoke to the Lord of the Many and asked it where to find another gemstone. It told him there were two to the southwest, which the group decided were two Kalak had possession of, and another one approximately 100 miles east of their current location.
Alaxander used the way to make himself able to slowly fly and not able to have physical objects harm him. He then teleported one hundred miles east. He appeared above the silt sea, but could see a small peak in the distance, west of his current location. He teleported closer and saw a fairly large island, with a smoking volcano at its center. There was a crashed silt skimmer nearby, on the east side of the island.
He opened a large dimensional portal, using the way, and brought the rest of the party to the shore of the island. The group could see the skimmer, as well as the large grassland that surrounded the volcano.
Nyla and Alaxander teleported to the wreck to investigate. They found five dwarven skeletons and crates of construction materials. Once they arrived back on the shore, Nyla suggested they move as far away from the skimmer as possible, before the sun set.
