Session One-Hundred Nine: Tyrian Conundrum

The group continued to fight the templars and the half-giant guard, but Kraah landed next to Rafiq and told him that reinforcements were on their way and would arrive soon. Reluctantly, Rafiq opened a dimensional gateway and the group fled through it. Selia was carried by Yusef and Rafiq was pushed through by Clavis.
They arrived back at the Lost Oasis. Kraah and Dimitria wasted no time in using what little healing magic they had to patch up the group. However, it was not enough and they decided to recover for the rest of the day.

The group decided to rest and recover for another day.

Day 4, Week 2, Fifthover, Friend's Vengeance, 190th King's Age, Sun Descending

After the group had sufficiently recovered, they discussed their next move. They decided to disguise Kraah and Rafiq. Their plan was to have Rafiq pose as a slave of Kraah's and go to the client village, which the Bishara estate was near, and inquire why the Bishara estate was attacked.

Yusef used his skills and make-up to make Kraah look like a normal, drab, aarakocra, while he disguised Rafiq to look like and ugly, old woman. Rafiq then teleported the two of them, about a mile, outside of the client village. He had used clairvoyance first, to make sure no one would see them.
They were greeted by a human guard, who was patrolling the village parameter. Kraah used his exceptional fast talking skills to verbally disarm the guard. Kraah and Rafiq walked into the village.
They made their way to a trading post and purchased some supplies. A templar entered the post and, not too subtly, began investigating them. Kraah sweet talked the templar, giving a false name for himself and his slave. The templar was so taken by Kraah that he introduced himself as Salim and invited Kraah to sit with him at the arena, during the next games.
Kraah had a long conversation with Salim, eventually steering it to the goings on in the village. Salim divulged that the noble, Ali Bishara, was arrested for sedition. He was plotting with some outsiders to attack the king. Even though no such attack could possibly succeed, for Kalak was unkillable, it was his duty to see that any such attack did not take place. He also found out that Ali had been turned in by one of his own slaves, who was granted freedom, and Ali was scheduled to die in the arena.
To keep Salim in the dark about who he truly was, he steered the conversation back to more mundane topics and dined with the templar. As the sun neared the horizon, Kraah told Salim that he must be going. Salim understood and wished Kraah well and Kraah wished Salim the same.
Kraah and Rafiq departed the village and, once out of view, teleported back to the Lost Oasis. When they appeared, they were shocked to find the rest of the group was drunk. Dimitria, Clavis, Selia, and Yusef were trying to play some game and drunkenly arguing about the rules.
Kraah and Rafiq told them about Ali being imprisoned and scheduled to die in the arena. Dimitria, Selia, and Yusef tried to make plans, but were too drunk to focus or take anything seriously. Kraah decided to wait until morning.

Day 5, Week 2, Fifthover, Friend's Vengeance, 190th King's Age, Sun Descending

The morning was not kind to Dimitria, Yusef, Clavis, and Selia, who all had hangovers. Yusef complained that magic could heal grievous wounds, but could not stop his head from pounding. Kraah told them that it served them right.
Kraah and Rafiq told them again what had happened to Ali and what fate awaited him. Rafiq, Clavis, and Yusef didn't much care about Ali, but Dimitria did and, because she and Selia were such good friends, Selia cared too. Kraah cared a little bit.
In the end, Dimitria bullied everyone into doing what she wanted and they agreed to free Ali. Rafiq looked into the vast nearly-empty mind of Clavis and saw images of the Tyrian slave pens. Rafiq then scouted with the way and saw Ali in the pens. He was badly beaten and looked absolutely pathetic. Ali was bound and had an obsidian circlet on his head, which prevented use of the way.
Rafiq guessed that the slave pens would be warded against teleportation; to stop gladiator theft and escapes. The group did not know what to do next.
